Battery and latency figures are mostly the maker's own, two reviewers report battery from their own use, and the list price has moved up since launch.

The verdict

A long-battery basic pair that editors like, missing noise cancelling, read from reviews only.

Across five editorial reviews, the Nord Buds 3r is a basic pair with a long battery whose main fault is missing noise cancelling, and owner experience was not readable.

This reading covers the OnePlus Nord Buds 3r, the true wireless earbuds OnePlus sells in India, read on 8 October 2026. The sample is five editorial reviews from The Week, Business Today, Smartprix, Digit and Fone Arena, dated 8 September to 5 November 2025. Beside them sit OnePlus's own product page, one buying list from BestBuysIndia dated 4 June 2026 and one aggregator page of Reddit comments updated on 7 October 2026.

The buyer tier is empty. The Amazon.in and Flipkart pages would not load, so no headline rating or rating count is reported, and no owner complaint is counted. Every count below is a count of editorial reviews out of five, written in the first months after launch. A complaint that editors raise is not a defect rate, and it says little about how many owners mind it.

The topic names a band of Rs 2,000. The reviews give a launch offer of Rs 1,599 and list prices of Rs 1,699 (Smartprix) and Rs 1,799 (Fone Arena and Digit). The Reddit Recs page reports that the maker's India site lists the earbuds at Rs 1,999 on 7 October 2026. We did not see a retailer price on the day.

Consensus

Across the five editorial reviews we read, the reading is favourable on the basics and specific about what is missing. Four of the five praise the battery. All five call the fit light and comfortable. Four of the five report the same 47 millisecond game mode latency that the maker lists. The complaint that comes back most is the absence of active noise cancelling, named in four of the five.

Confidence is strong among editors on those points and thin on everything else. No buyer page was readable and the only community source is one aggregator page, so how the earbuds hold up in owners' hands after a year is not something this sample can say. This is a reading of the sample on one date, not a measurement of the earbuds.

Recurring strengths

Battery life. Four of the five editorial reviews (Business Today, Smartprix, Digit and Fone Arena) praise it. The maker lists 12 hours for the earbuds alone and 54 hours with the case. Smartprix reports about 11 hours in its own use at middle volume. Digit reports a drop of about one tenth for each hour and 48 minutes at high volume. The Week does not discuss battery.

Fit. All five editorial reviews describe a light, comfortable or secure fit. Digit adds that the fit gives some passive isolation.

Game mode latency. Four of the five (Business Today, Smartprix, Digit and Fone Arena) report 47 milliseconds in game mode, the figure OnePlus lists.

Bass. Three of the five (Business Today, Smartprix and Digit) describe an energetic, bass-forward sound. The Week disagrees, as the split below shows.

Dust and water rating. All five state that the earbuds themselves carry an IP55 rating, which is also on the maker's page. The Week and Fone Arena both add that the case has no such rating.

Recurring complaints

No active noise cancelling. Four of the five editorial reviews (Business Today, Smartprix, Digit and Fone Arena) name it as the main compromise. The maker's page we read lists two microphone noise cancelling for calls and does not list noise cancelling for music.

The bass crowds out the middle. Three of the five (Business Today, Smartprix and Digit) say the bass-heavy tuning pushes vocals and instruments back or hides detail in busy tracks. Smartprix adds that the equaliser helps only a little.

The case. Three of the five raise the case, each on a different point. The Week notes it has no IP rating. Fone Arena notes the same and also that it has no pairing button. Smartprix calls the lid flimsy. These are three reviewers' observations and not one shared fault.

No wear detection. Two of the five (Business Today and Fone Arena) say music does not pause when an earbud comes out.

Call microphones. Two of the five (Smartprix and Digit) say the microphones struggle with background noise. Three others praise calls, so this sits under the split.

Individual opinions. One reviewer, Smartprix, found the touch controls inconsistent and noted that no charging cable is in the box. One reviewer, Digit, noted that only the AAC and SBC codecs are supported. Neither point is a recurring one.

Where reviewers split

Calls. Three editorial reviews (The Week, Business Today and Fone Arena) are positive about call quality or its noise cancelling. Two (Smartprix and Digit) say it does not fully clear background noise. The reviews do not say why they differ, so we leave it as a split.

Bass. Three editorial reviews call the bass punchy. The Week says the bass response is limited and that the sound lacks the detail of dearer earbuds. We treat The Week as the outlier on bass, and note that the three who like the bass are the same three who say it crowds the middle.

Price then and now. Editorial reviews from September to November 2025 give Rs 1,599 to Rs 1,799. The aggregator reports Rs 1,999 for the maker's site on 7 October 2026. Both can be true, since a sale price and a list price differ, and we did not read a retailer page that settles it.

Editors against owners. There is no owner tier to set against the editors. The Reddit Recs page counts 17 Reddit comments about the model and shows mostly praise, with no complaint theme to count. We treat it as a thin signal and do not count it in any theme.

Who it suits

You may be the reader the reviews describe if battery life and a light fit matter most. The editorial reviews also fit a reader who games on a phone, since four report the low latency, and a reader who likes bass-forward sound, which three describe. The reviews place these earbuds as a basic pair with a long battery, not a feature-heavy one.

Who should pass

A reader who wants noise cancelling for music should look elsewhere, since four of the five editorial reviews name its absence. So should a reader who wants clear vocals without adjusting an equaliser (three of five), a reader who wants music to pause when an earbud comes out (two of five) or a reader who wants a case with a water rating (two of five). Owner experience beyond the first months is not in this sample.
