The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has been on sale since March 2026, from $1,299.99 on Samsung's US store. The complaint that follows it is the screen: owners' reports of eye strain and soft text drew news coverage and a statement from Samsung that month, and no source we could read shows how common they are.

On 15 September 2026 we read Samsung's product page and support note and searched US recall records (tier 1), six editorial reviews dated 2 March to 6 April 2026 and six news reports dated 9 March to 1 September 2026 (tier 2), and Best Buy's review page and Samsung.com's store page (tier 3). The buyer tier is thin: two headline ratings and the review summary Best Buy publishes, from one ordinary page load each, not buyer reviews read one by one. Amazon's listing and the Samsung Community thread the news reports cite both refused a plain fetch, so neither is here, and no forum is.

Consensus

Across the reviews we read, the editorial verdict is strong: a refined, incremental Ultra, with the Privacy Display as the reason to notice it. All six editorial reviews count that feature as a strength, five of the six praise the thinner, lighter body, and five raise the missing Qi2 magnets.

The buyer figures are high and say little. Best Buy shows 4.9 out of 5 from 878 reviews on its 256GB listing, with 99% of reviewers recommending it, and Samsung.com shows 4.8 from 16,941 reviews. Recurring strengths

The Privacy Display, which hides the screen from side views, is a strength in all six editorial reviews (tier 2).

Five of six praise the thinner, lighter design: TechRadar, Droid Life, GSMArena, Tom's Guide and Beebom. Samsung lists 214 g against 218 g for the Galaxy S25 Ultra (tier 1).

Battery life is a strength in the same five. GSMArena's Active Use Score was 16 hours 23 minutes, and Tom's Guide measured 16 hours 10 minutes against 14 hours 27 minutes for the S25 Ultra.

Faster charging is a listed pro for GSMArena, Tom's Guide and Tech Advisor: GSMArena measured 84 per cent in 30 minutes and Tom's Guide 77 per cent. TechRadar, GSMArena and Tom's Guide count the S Pen in the phone's favour.
